The San Marino Data Protection Authority is an independent administrative authority, established by Law No 171 of 21 December 2018, which entered into force on 5 January 2018, on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.

The Office of the DPA was established on 1 February 2019 at the provisional headquarters of the State Museum Offices. The Office of the DPA is submitted to the State Secretariat at administrative level.

The Data Protection Authority is a Collegiate Body composed of the Panel, which consists of three full members, and the Office.

The members of the Collegiate Panel are:

President: Mr. Nicola Fabiano (appointed by resolution of the Great and General Council of 23/01/2019)

Vice President: Mr. Umberto Rapetto (appointed by resolution of the Great and General Council of 13/03/2019)

Member: Ms. Patrizia Gigante (appointed by resolution of the Great and General Council of 23/01/2019)

Lead Office: Ms. Maria Sciarrino (appointed by resolution of the Congress of State n. 10 of 08 January 2019, in relation to art. 10. 55 of Law no. 21/12/2018 no. 171)

The members of the Collegiate Panel of the San Marino Data Protection Authority took office on 02 April 2019.
